Receipt rcvd -- Aug 10th (Rcvd copy of receipts Aug 13th).
LUD Not updated.
I have seen some one else like me had the same process. Checks got cashed after 2 days of receipts.

Your I-140 was approved in NSC and NOT in TSC. My observation is STRICLTY for people whose I-140s have been approved in TSC but have applied their I-485 in NSC.

I moved to the US on a H1 visa, from India 7 years ago. I have a Bachelors in Engineering and a Management degree as well. I work in the areas of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. An area of expertise that helps corporations here in the US become competitive and stay competitive. Among other benefits, my work aids businesses in making informed operational, tactical and strategic decisions and gain competitive advantage.
With this retrogression, It is going be several years before USCIS will even get to my file to adjudicate. While I understand a green card is not my right, I think I have worked towards it for a long time now. I am in this country legally, paying taxes, contributing to this economy, spending my earnings in this country like any other law abiding American citizen.
I have legally asked this country and USCIS for Permanent Residency (PR). My request for PR is not based on the premise that my parents/relatives live here and are citizens in this country. I am not even asking for Permanent Residency because of the country I come from. I am asking for Permanent Residency based entirely on my educational qualifications, professional expertise and the demonstrated contributions I have made to businesses and the American way of Life.
I have also been accepted as an Instructor at a reputed University in California where I will be teaching in my area of expertise. This clearly helps the American society and Industry.
When I moved to the US, I believed America is all about meritocracy. Work hard, prove your worth and you get what you truly deserve. I feel six years is enough time to prove your worth to get a Permanent Residency.
My tax returns, my legal Status documents, my contributions to this economy etc will prove it. What is really disconcerting is the fact that, now I have to continue to wait for I don't know how many more years for USCIS to even look at my credentials, let alone give me an up or down decision. Mind you this wait is not because of any delays attributable to me.

If you think you don't need me, at least tell me, in a reasonable period of time. Please do not make me wait indefinitely.

from all your invalid and illogical posts, I fail to understand your real motive. Do you want us get divided and fight among ourselves? Hope not! With my limited understanding, what I realized in last 2 years is this: VISA RECAPTURE and RETROGRESSION aka discrimination based on country of birth are the biggest obstacles for those born in countries like India, china, Philippines and Mexico. (Do you want to say that it is okay to be descriminated for being born in one of those countries?) So it does make sense to address these 2 issues. If I have limited energy (read money & support for lobbying, campaign etc), I would spend it towards where it can benefit me most.
What I am saying is just do not look into the issues that affects only you. Just be open minded. Show some sympathy to them. They were really affected. You do not have to fight all battles. you called that person Jealous which I did not like. if You do not like just ignore the post but do not call the names.

I believe we should indicate our thanks to IV in terms of funding as well.
Also we need to stick together in future as well.
Filing I-485 is not the end of it. We still have a long way to go.

Yes, you may end up blocking strive act, but what will happen then is all your jobs are going to start disappearing to eastern europe, China, India and any other place possible. I don't know if you work in high skilled labor market but if you do, I am sure you must have noticed the large number of engineers, doctors, architects who are immigrants and contributing to this society. Anyway, I think discussing this point with you is pointless.

She was so eloquent. Every passing day makes u feel more like a 2nd class citizen. Anyways, let us chug on. I had sent my story. The IV core members are still working and talking to senators and congressmen. In fact one of the core members of IV met with his congressmen today and it was a very productive meeting
The media team has also got some very important leads. Thanks to all the contributors of stories, we were able to immediately capitalize on an opportunity from a world renowned publication. We are hoping that this will be out soon.
Another US top-3 publication's article is in the works too.
As I had mentioned earlier, we have received quite a few stories and its encouraging to see people now willing to speak publicly and realizing that maybe it won't help, revealing one's story will not hurt for sure. Plus, we will never be able to conduct rallies like illegals. Approaching media with our stories is the only way to get ourselves heard.
Someone had asked a question that how many stories have we received. The answer is about 20. That might seem a lot but let me give you a very recent example of how this was too little.
We were approached by a award-winning reporter to provide her two members of IV that fit two criteria
1) Should be non-IT
2) EB1 or EB2
Given the 20 stories we had only 2 such folks that fit the criteria and they who were gracious and spoke to the reporter. The reporter then wanted to speak to one more person and we did not have any readily available person. So we had to do a crazy search for a person that fits this criteria. We were able to find someone at the last moment and we did not squander our chance. But chances are pretty high that such a thing can happen in future!
We might have a reporter who wants to write an article but is looking for an EB2 from the state of Texas. Currently we do not have anyone that fits the criteria. We would lose this chance which anyways are not easy to come by.
Also, when our IV core member met with the congressman today, he asked for someone who was suffering in his district. Fortunately our core member was from his dictrict and hence we were okay, else it would not have been a productive meeting!
So please please send us your stories......we will not reveal your info to anyone without your expressed permission. We promise....

And anyone trying to implicate that EB3s are less skilled are plain wrong - we got in EB3 limbo due to large corporations doing things by book (or for plain long term commitment out of workers).
Either way, IV leadership needs to re-iterate and re-emphasize at least once that this is not EB2 fight only but EB fight in general. IV discussions simply have gone EB2 biased only for too long.

I was just thinking and then this came up on me . How about sending a poster along with the letter campaign. I can contribute atleast three posters. They do not have to be full size posters ..can be just A4 size pamphlets kinds. We can just print them in color printer and send them along with the letters. These posters may make it to the press also as they will be funny and spicy for news. Actually, we can send copy of our letters to press as well along with our posters. If we make about 10 such posters, we can send one random poster along with the letter.

Even I was wondering same thing- Notice Date or Received Date. USCIS website says Received date is taken into account while looking at service centers processing times.
Here is exact line-
"IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance."
Of course, I personally wish that Notice Date takes precedence as it is not our fault that one file just kept on sitting and in saga of moving dates and PD, each day makes a difference.

It is not the date case was received by a center. In the above case, files were just waiting somewhere between Aug 17 and Oct 16. Texas center perhaps opened the case on Oct 16, entered it in the system and sent out a notice. Online status perhaps shows "...your case was received on Oct 16...". So, as far as Texas center is concerned they received the case on Oct. 16.
Thus, as curent processing times are at August 23, 2007, dwhuser case file is yet to be opened. Since file is not yet opened, no one yet knows his/her PD (it is nowhere other than on paper files). So the case waits - his/her PD may get current and pass. Of course, Aug 17 '07 to Oct 16, '07, was not dwhuser's fault, but it put him/her behind a lot of cases whose files were accepted/opened by a center in the meantime.
Why so? Because USCIS prime systems are not designed for huge volumes, or PD's so much in the waiting.
